Sit back, relax and enjoy this short film of one of our sessions. Recorded in the summer of 2022 by the guys from TackleGuruTV, this film highlights what its like to take part and just how engaged the children are whilst with us.
We are a family-run business and we pride ourselves on providing our fun and engaging angling sessions to schools and other youth organisations and individuals in and around our hometown of Sheffield in South Yorkshire.
A day outside at a local fishery. Children learn about the wildlife that call the lakes and reservoirs we visit home. They will learn how to set up different styles of fishing tackle and how to use it in a safe and responsible manner. They will gain an insight into topics such as conservation, fish care and animal welfare, the countryside code and other topics such as the use of plastics and the importance of recycling.
Fishing for Schools was developed by world renowned fly fisherman Charles Jardine, who saw the potential for angling to educate and enrich learning. Since 2007, Fishing for Schools has taken young people out of the classroom and into the countryside, developing confidence and learning new skills.
Our aim is to make Access Angling and Aston Park Fishery the hub and a centre of excellence for Fishing For Schools sessions in the South Yorkshire and North Notts/Derbyshire areas.
Take a listen back to the piece that went out on Talksport 2's Fishermans Blues radio show and hear what we get up to and how our sessions work.
