Dave and the team are always ready to be your host, and are gladly looking forward to welcoming you!
We love fishing and believe that by providing an opportunity for people with no angling experience or connection to the sport, to try some of the many different forms of angling, in a supportive and encouraging environment, we can create new anglers who will stay with the sport their whole lives and pass on the love of fishing to future generations.
Angling has the potential to change the lives of its participants. Many of the groups we work with consist of vulnerable individuals who have never had the opportunity to try angling or spend any time in a natural environment. To be able to offer sessions to people in these circumstances, gives them the opportunity to see another way of life, to change potentially destructive patterns or even just give them a break from their otherwise intensely challenging lives.
Some of the younger participants we work with have difficulties in a traditional educational environment, often with poor levels of achievement and disengagement. By showing them that there is another way to learn and introducing them to new activities, we are showing them that they do have ability and potential and they leave with improved self-esteem, confidence and increased emotional wellbeing. Many have shown that they feel calmer and more focused – and this continues away from the fishing pond.
Our team consists of highly qualified and motivated professionals, who are all experts in their field. With many years of experience in the fishing industry, they have the expertise to provide comprehensive coaching services to our clients.
Dave enjoys all styles of fishing but has a real love of the competitive side of the sport, particularly when the fishing gets a little harder in the winter months when he can be found fishing his local winter leagues. As a life long angler, knowing the many benefits fishing has to offer and with his Level 2 lead coach qualification, Dave set up Access Angling to give back to the sport that has given him so many years of enjoyment and opportunities.
Richard is a hugely experienced angler with Level 2 Lead coach status. He has a wealth of knowledge across many different angling disciplines and years of experience in the retail and manufacturing side of the fly fishing industry. Whether its fly fishing for trout on a large reservoir from a float tube or spinning for pike or perch, Richard is always happy and ready to share his experience with anyone. A true asset to the Access Angling team.
Jamie is a true all round angler, a valued member of the team and a firm favourite of many of the pupils that attend our sessions and is currently working towards attaining his Level 2 lead coach status. With a particular love of targeting those larger specimens, he has travelled the world in search of his quarry. From huge rays off the coast of Scotland to the massive Siamese carp and Giant Arapaima of Thailand. When he's not on his travels though, he can be found fishing for carp and barbel or lure and fly fishing for pike, perch or zander at various locations around the UK.

We are proud to work with and be supported by some of the fishing industries leading brands and organisations and thank them enormously for their support.
The Angling Trust is the representative body for game, coarse and sea anglers in England. There members support the campaigns and legal action carried out to protect fish stocks and programmes to increase the number of anglers fishing for fun and in competitions.
Get Fishing is the Angling Trust’s campaign to get more people fishing more often.
We are incredibly proud to have the support of one of the fishing tackle industries largest companies. We thank them enormously for their ongoing support.
Each year we deliver a limited number of sessions for schools and pupil referral units in our area on behalf of the charity Fishing for schools. More information about F4S can be found on their website. Click the button below for more information.
Access Angling proudly support the A.N.L.R.S (Anglers National Line Recycling Scheme) and we collect all of our waste line and plastics that we use through each season and send it off to be recycled. The importance of this is also a big part of what we teach the students that attend our sessions.
Fjuka supported us in 2023 by way of providing bait for us to use in our sessions and by providing goody bags for us to offer to those that visited our stand at the events that we attended such as The Angling Village at Chatsworth Country Fair. We thank them for their ongoing support.
